Moving Services
            Begin Packing Early:
You should have everything packed and ready for loading when the van arrives. Begin packing early. It is impossible to pack ahead of the loading process on your moving day.

            Sealing Boxes:
All boxes should have tops on them and be taped shut with a vinyl tape, which is available at most moving companies. Box with just flaps folded, do not hold. Please check to be sure the bottom of the box is also secure.

            Books:
Pack books and heavy items in small boxes so they are handled easily.

            FRAGILE ITEMS:
Extra care should be taken in packing fragile items. These items should be clearly identified as fragile so extra care can be taken in handling it. We can furnish picture cartons for your use. Please note your needs on cube sheet.

            PACKING CLOTHES & LINENS:
In order to conserve space, clothing and linens may be left in dresser drawers or chests. Clothing in closets does not need to be packed since the van carries a supply of wardrobe containers. Please indicate on cube sheet how many will be needed. (Each wardrobe will accommodate approximately 18 - 24 inches of hanging space.)

            VALUABLES:
Please remove and care for any valuables. The conference is not responsible for valuables left in chests and drawers.

            TAKE WITH YOU:
Please remember all keys, checkbooks and other important documents you may need while shipment is in transit, must be removed from boxes and drawers. Once packed in the van, it will be impossible to retrieve.

            DEFROST REFRIGERATORS & FREEZERS:
The conference assumes no responsibility for frozen foods in transit. All refrigerators and freezers must be unloaded and defrosted before they can be packed on the van.

            INFLAMMABLE LIQUIDS:
No container with inflammable materials should be packed, i.e., gasoline cans, paint thinner, or kerosene. All equipment with a gasoline tank, i.e., lawn mowers, rotor tillers, garden tractors and motor bikes, MUST have their tanks drained several days in advance of the moving date.

            STORAGE:
The conference has a limited amount of storage space which may be available if your need does not exceed one month. Please advise moving coordinator if storage will be required. If space is not available at our facility it will be necessary for you to make your own arrangements.

            HELP LOADING & UNLOADING:
Help may be requested to assist with the loading and unloading. If needed, please arrange to have 2 to 4 helpers (depending on size of your shipment) available in advance. As you choose your help, please remember these are your possessions they will be handling. The conference driver will pay the help at the established rate per hour.

            LOADING & UNLOADING:
You should be present during the entire loading and unloading process to lend a helping hand and answer any questions.

            INSTRUCTIONS:
Before the van departs a thorough search should be made of the premises to assure that all items that should be loaded have been placed in the van.

            DAMAGE IN TRANSIT:
Notations should be made at the time of unloading of any visible damages. Any loss or damage should be reported in writing to the van driver or to the Moving Department as soon as possible after receipt of goods.

            ARRIVAL TIME:
We strive to maintain our schedule, however circumstances beyond our control could cause a slight delay. Our mover will contact you a day or so prior to your scheduled move to confirm arrival time. Likewise, if you experience any delays concerning loading our unloading, this should be conveyed immediately to the moving coordinator.
